I was super impressed with the n on-costumed characters Cap'n Turbot, Ryder, Mayor Goodway and Mayor Humdinger were fantastic performers. To encourage audience participation, prior to heading to each new landmark on the map clues appear on a screen and the audience is asked what each icon is images included a fish, a tree, and other easily identifiable icons. She perked back up at the discovery of the treasure and the end of the show as they sang a closing song and shot out confetti. My toddler enjoyed seeing the pups live but I could tell she was getting a little bogged down during the 2nd half, even after an intermission of running around the arena. Live! Move to the Music was lack of a storyline, Paw Patrol Live! The Great Pirate Adventure may have too much storyline. Normally episodes of Paw Patrol do not include songs but since this was an extended show (running time was about 90 minutes with a 15 minute intermission) they created songs for the live show and they were welcomed break from all of the dialogue. That's THREE offshoots of the main plot line to follow.Īfter the pups leave the stage, Mayor Humdinger enters and he leaves and we're back to the pups or we check in on Cap'n Turbot. Mayor Goodway, Ryder and the pups take off to find the treasure before Mayor Humdinger and Cap'n Turbot goes back on his quest to take a photo of the Pirate Parrot. Mayor Goodway, Ryder and the pups think this treasure would be perfect to showcase at Pirate Day in Adventure Bay and have it on display at their museum however, Mayor Humdinger thinks the treasure will look even better in HIS LIVING ROOM. The Great Pirate Adventure expands on a plot line from an episode of Paw Patrol and was actually quite complex in all of its moving pieces. It is geared to the pre-school age. When it comes to storylines, this show was much different than Nick Jr. Lisa: You’re going to have fun and nobody will be yelling at you to stay in your seats. It’s amazing to see the kids and their families smiling. Everyone gets a white pirate flag, and they help and are incorporated into the show. They are helping with the clues on the treasure map. Ty: We want the kids to be able to be themselves. I remember singing and dancing with my child in the TV room as her favorite shows were on, but being able to put that to life is magical and it helps to engage children. Nothing replaces live singing and dancing and feeling engaged with the characters. This show is a great entry level to be able to share live entertainment. ![]() I remember bringing my daughter from a very young age, and we always wonder, is my child too young to go to a performance. Everyone’s having fun and that’s what we’re going for. There is the Paw Patrol theme and also new music, and it’s all a huge party. It’s like seeing these pups in real life. We have a huge LED screen that incorporated the cartoon aspect of it. They do a really good job of bringing this cartoon to life. ![]() Ty: The kids really know the shows better than anybody. It is a general feel-good show, regardless of how old you are. The way you describe it, the words you use, the dancing, costumes… everything is bright. Lisa: Everything about these shows is catchy. The pups are all for one and one for all. It teaches the kids to care for one another, to be brave when scary things happen. Ty: It’s about owning who you are and taking care of each other and being brave in the face of fearful things. Lisa: I love the slogan “no job is too big and no pirate pup is too small.” It’s such a great message. It incorporates everyone! Children and parents are dancing and the whole show revolves around finding the treasure from a treasure map that they found. Ty: We had “Race to the Rescue,” which brought so much joy to kids and families coming to see the show that they decided to do another episode and they made it bigger, with more music and more dance numbers. What can we look forward to in “The Great Pirate Adventure”? You have brought other tours here before. Lisa: “Paw Patrol Live” has become a complete family favorite. ![]() Read on for highlights from the WCRN 830 AM interview. Lisa Condit spoke with Ty Rood, who plays Cap’n Turbot in “Paw Patrol Live!
